South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court heard the boy was an undercover police officer who he had first interacted with online.

Prosecutor Christopher O’Brien said Mr Mohammed was arrested at the park.

Mr Mohammed did not enter a plea to a charge of arranging or facilitating the commission of an offence of sexual activity with a child to cause or incite a child to engage – penetration.

He also did not enter pleas to two charges of possession of extreme pornography, also in South Tyneside.

District Judge Zoe Passfield told Mr Mohammed his case would be heard next at Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday, December 10.

She granted him bail on condition he resides at his home address.

He must also have no contact with anyone aged under 18 except without the prior approval of their parent, guardian or social services.
