There are so many puppies in search of their forever home this week across the North and North East.
Darlington, Cumbria and Leeds rehoming centres are hoping to find lovely homes for their dogs in order to give them the best possible lives.
Here are just 13 of the dogs searching for a forever home this January.

5. Cooper (Cocker Spaniel, seven years)
Cooper is a very loveable and clever dog. He loves doing training and putting his exceptional nose to good use. If you enjoy doing scent work or other fun training with your dog then Cooper will be a great match. He'll need someone around all the time during his settling in period to slowly build him up being left on his own. He will also need several meets at the centre to get to know his new owners properly before he leaves us. Cooper really is a cracking dog with a lot to give, he just needs a little time and patience initially. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds

6. Dash (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross, four months)
Dash is such a handsome boy and at 4 months old he seems to be all legs. He has a lot of growing to do yet and should be a good medium to large dog once fully grown. Dash can be worried by new people and takes time to build up a good relationship so will need several visits to meet him before he can go home. We feel older children would suit Dash better, 16 years and over. As he can be anxious he will need to visit his new home to check it out before finally leaving our nest. To help Dash flourish in his new home we feel he would be better homed with a confident adult dog (ideally not a rough and tumble player). This should help build up his confidence, he may also be fine with other pets such as cats although we have no previous history of this. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds

7. Zena (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross, one-two years)
Beautiful Zena has had quite an unsettled life so far, so she is looking for patient owners that are happy to do some training with her to help her settle in. Owners that are confident with large, bouncy breeds would be beneficial as she can be very strong on the lead at times (especially when wanting to chase prey animals). If you have the strength and Zena sized space on your sofa, however, this friendly girl will give you plenty in terms of interaction and affection - she really has got bags of potential. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Leeds

8. Gunner (Dobermann, two-five years)
Gunner is a gorgeous boy that is coming up to his second birthday in Feb. So far he has spent a lot of his time living outside, so he will need patient owners that are happy to go back to basics with him. He can be a little shy at first, but comes around quickly with a calm approach. He absolutely loves his toys and he is quite keen on other dogs (sometimes he gets frustrated if he can't meet them and he will bark) - we think he would probably enjoy living with another playful dog. We think he will be okay being left as long as this is built up as he settles in, and we think he would be okay with children aged 14+ that are used to large, bouncy dogs. | Dogs Trust Photo: Dogs Trust
