Firework shows return to the South Shields seafront - this is everything you need to know
Two free firework shows at set to take place at the South Shields seafront.
Members of the public are invited to enjoy two free firework displays at the South Shields seafront.
South Tyneside Council alongside Ocean Beach Pleasure Park are bringing back the shows for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
The popular fair will be open from 12pm on Sunday afternoon (November 1) with plenty of rides and attractions for families to enjoy before the fireworks begin.
This is everything you need to know for the 2026 South Shields firework displays:

When will the firework displays take place?
Organisers have confirmed that the first display will begin at 6pm, with the second at 8pm.
Where is the best place to watch the displays?
The fireworks for both displays will be set off from the area behind the skatepark, on Sea Road.
However, there are many vantage points along the South Shields seafront where you can enjoy the fireworks from a distance.
Where can I park my car?
South Tyneside Council is asking visitors to the South Shields seafront to be considerate to others when parking.
The various seafront and town centre car parks will be available throughout the event, with additional car parking set to be available in Bents Park.
Visitors are encouraged to use public transport but motorists looking for parking information can visit: https://www.southtyneside.gov.uk/article/1597/Car-parks.
South Tyneside Council has stated that roads around the seafront are likely to be busy so motorists are asked to follow signage and allow plenty of time for travel and parking.
Can I bring my own fireworks?
South Tyneside Council has warned that visitors to the firework displays should not bring any of their own fireworks or sparklers.
Is the event suitable for pets?
Given how fireworks can affect pets, it is advised that they are left at home.
What is the weather forecast?
Organisers have stressed that the firework displays will be weather permitting.
At the time of writing, Met Office forecasters are predicting that Sunday, November 1, will be cloudy but dry.
Wind gusts are expected to sit at around 13mph and temperatures will reach highs of 11°C.
