Jonas Gutierrez's message to 'Geordie nation' ahead of Newcastle-West Brom

The winger, now at Deportivo La Coruna, tweeted a good luck message to his former club ahead of this afternoon's home game against West Bromwich Albion.

Gutierrez – who scored on the final day of last season as Newcastle confirmed their Premier League status – also wished his close friend Fabricio Coloccini, United's captain, "the best".

The 32-year-old tweeted: "With the Geordie nation all is possible, come on Newcastle today. The best to my best friend Coloccini."

Gutierrez, who overcame testicular cancer to make an emotional playing comeback last season, left St James's Park last summer.
