Junior Parkrun event continuing on 'week-by-week' basis after work begins
South Shields’ Junior Parkrun event course will need to be checked on a weekly basis during work to the route.
A weekly running event for children will continue to be checked on a weekly basis after work began on a key part of its route.
North Marine Junior Parkrun takes place every Sunday in the South Shields park of the same name, but organisers are now needing to check work on the park every week to ensure it can continue through the coming weeks.
First noticed by the team behind the event at the start of July, they issued an update ahead of this weekend on social media.
It read: “As you know there are some ongoing works in the park.
“The contractors are going to do their best to keep the fencing as close to the works as possible for us to hold an event this weekend.
“Going forward we will be monitoring on a week by week basis but we will keep you all updated.”
