As the country comes to terms with the tragic events, a minute's silence will be held at 11am tomorrow in remembrance of all those who died, and to mark the UK's solidarity with all those injured and affected.

A statement released jointly by 10 Downing Street, the Foreign Office and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has also confirmed that flags will remain at half-mast on government buildings until tomorrow evening.

It is understood that, following the period of silence, most political parties will resume local campaigning, with the General Election contest restarting in full on Friday.
