New exhibition set to honour the Jarrow March’s 90th anniversary
A special exhibition is set to pay tribute to the 90th anniversary of the Jarrow March.
One of the most important events in South Tyneside’s history is set to be honoured in a new exhibition.
The 90th anniversary of the Jarrow March, also known as the Jarrow Crusade, is set to be commemorated in a special public exhibition at the Jarrow Town Hall, on Grange Road.

The exhibition, which will be free to attend, will take place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4.
It will feature archive images and information displays to tell the story of the 200 crusaders who left Jarrow on October 5, 1936, and walked almost 300 miles to London to call for jobs and investment in the town.
For more information about the event, you can call South Tyneside Council’s Civic Office on 0191 424 7314 or email [email protected].
