Newcastle United have today been linked with an England whizkid from Middlesbrough '“ while there has been developments in their pursuit of Saido Berahino.

The Magpies are keen to add to their striking ranks this month, with West Brom’s Berahino having emerged as their main target.

Meanwhile, reports have emerged today that Newcastle are interested in signing Middlesbrough youngster Harry Chapman.

The highly-rated winger has been attracting a number of scouts to Teesside, with Arsenal keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.

However, the Sun reports today that Newcastle want to sign the Hartlepool-born prospect, who has played in the same England Under-18s side as Adam Armstrong.
