Police officers are keen to trace a woman who was admitted to hospital after collapsing on the South Tyneside coast but left without receiving treatment.

An appeal has now been issued on social media in an attempt to trace the woman so officers can check her welfare.

The woman, who is around 46-years-old, was admitted to hospital on Tuesday, September 22, after collapsing near Marsden Grotto at around 1pm.

Officers say she later left the hospital without receiving the necessary treatment and they are keen to trace her to check her welfare.

Posting on Twitter, a Northumbria Police spokesman asked for the public’s help to locate the woman.

The tweet said: “The woman is described as around 46-years-old, 5ft 7in, medium build with dark hair that is slightly longer than shoulder length.

“The woman, or anyone who knows her, is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting reference number 687 of 22/09/20.”
