Pledges have been ditched

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has admitted that the issue of doctors' contracts and the seven-day service is likely to be his 'last big job in politics'.

However, he insisted the Government will not be “blackmailed” into dropping its manifesto pledge of improving seven-day services.

This, of course, is unlike a large number of their election pledges, which have been chucked in the bin since they were elected by 37% of voters.

There are still a number of people to be heard moaning about pay as the only reason for the strike – grow up.
