South Shields man admits to three counts of making indecent images of children
Daniel Pearson, from South Shields, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children.
A South Shields man admitted to making indecent images of children in court this week.
Daniel Pearson, of Canterbury Street, South Shields, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 11.
The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo photographs of children.
Pearson, born 11/02/1993, admitted to making two category A images, 14 category B images and 20 category C images between August 12, 2024 and October 2, 2024.
Prosecutor James Gallagher told the court PC Dixon was called to Pearson’s address on October 2, 2024, after receiving information indicating images of children had been uploaded to the internet.
“no original images were obtained”
Following the seizure of Pearson’s electronic devices, data extracted from his mobile phone showed Pearson had made the images.
The court heard “no original images were obtained” and this was Pearson’s first offence.
Defending, Mr David Forrester told the court Pearson had completed some courses since his arrest, “to deal with the problem that he had.”

The court decided a pre-sentence report needed to be completed before Pearson’s sentence and arranged his next hearing at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on October 2, 2026.
Pearson was also made subject to a notification requirement, meaning within the next three days he must visit South Shields Police Station and inform the force of his address.
He was granted unconditional bail until his next court appearance.
