Carabao Cup quarter-final draw: Newcastle United or Everton, Liverpool & co discover last eight opponents
Carabao Cup quarter-final draw: Newcastle United are looking to reach the last eight of the competition for the fifth successive season.
Newcastle United travel to Everton in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Thursday night, already knowing their potential quarter-final opponents should they progress.
Should Matthias Jaissle’s side beat the Toffees, they will travel to face League Two Fleetwood Town in the quarter-final. Fleetwood reached the last eight after beating Arsenal on penalties thanks to a saved spot kick from former Magpies captain Bruno Guimaraes.
The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw took place following Liverpool’s penalty shootout win over Chelsea on Wednesday night. The ties are scheduled for the week commencing Monday, December 14.
Newcastle travel to Ipswich Town the weekend before the quarter-final ties, before travelling to Brentford the weekend after. The four ties will determine which clubs progress to the two-legged semi-finals in January and February, with the final scheduled to take place at Wembley on Sunday, March 21, 2027.

Newcastle have reached the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in each of the last four seasons. They were knocked out at the semi-final stage last season by eventual winners Manchester City.
The season prior, they ended a 70-year domestic trophy drought by beating Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley Stadium and winning the competition.
United reached the last-16 of the competition this season by beating Championship sides West Bromwich Albion and Millwall.
The home win against the Baggies came thanks to a Harvey Barnes brace and Bazoumana Traore’s first goal for the club as United claimed a 3-2 win at St James’ Park before Joe Willock got the only goal of the game in last month’s visit to Millwall.
Their tie against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is the last fourth-round tie to take place, with the rest of the quarter-finalists already decided.
