South Tyneside recruitment firm boss is aiming high

Adrian Cheesman, managing director of South Shields based Demob Job, has accessed dedicated support from one of the country’s leading scale-up experts, Ian Kinnery.
Demob Job is a nationwide company that specialises in placing highly skilled engineering and technical personnel into new roles after they have previously served in our armed forces.

Mr Cheesman set up Demob Job after leaving the army in 2005, after serving 24 years in the Royal Corps of Signals.
He said: “It was during my last four years, working in army recruitment and considering my future career, when it suddenly dawned on me that not once during all my years of service had I heard of a commercial organisation which championed the employability and skills of
people like me.

“When you grow any business there are challenges and some of mine have been around time. In the early days I was effectively doing everything from building a website to answering the phone and dealing with customers.”
After 10 years of trading, Mr Cheesman sought the support of Ian Kinnery, scale up expert at Team Massive Results, to help him achieve sustainable business growth.

“I have always been conscious that I owned a great business but was also aware that I needed to develop my skills as a business owner in order to grow Demob Job.
“Ian has opened my eyes to how a successful business operates and grows. He has helped me focus on what I want to achieve and assisted me in mapping out the route ahead.”
He added: “The benefits can be seen and measured both in improvements in service delivery, financial income and, on a personal note, the confidence I have in the future of my company.
