South Tyneside village to hold a ‘spooky pumpkin and costume’ contest this Halloween
A South Tyneside village is getting into the spooky spirit this Halloween.
Members of the public are invited to take part in a “spooky pumpkin and costume” contest this Halloween in South Tyneside.
Monkton Village will be hosting the competition at The Lord Nelson pub, on Monkton Lane, in Jarrow, on Saturday, October 31, from 4pm.

Anyone wanting to take part is asked to bring their already carved pumpkin and best costume to the pub to be in with a chance of winning a prize.
Entries must be submitted at 4pm on Halloween, with the judging set to get underway from 5pm.
Organisers have stated that the winners will be announced from 5.30pm.
Members of the public are also encouraged to take part in a raffle and a tombola at the pub while judges work their way through the spooky entries.
