South Shields drop in event for families to meet SEND support teams in person

The Toby Henderson Trust is hosting a drop-in event for families in South Shields, allowing them to meet support teams in person and learn more about services available in the area.

A drop in multi-agency event will be held in South Shields for families to meet support teams that operate in South Tyneside to assist young people with SEND needs.

The Toby Henderson Trust is hosting the event on Tuesday, October 20, from 10am to 12pm.

The service, which is for families with autistic children up to 18 who live in South Tyneside with no diagnosis needed, said the event will allow families to meet services in person in one place.

The trust, via social media, said: “It means families get the chance to meet multiple different services ‘in person’ in one place and are able to put a ‘face to a name/organisation.’

“Feedback from families who attend our support groups, where we regularly have guests join us have shown the value in the opportunity to meet professionals/team members from services in person.

“If you are a family living in South Tyneside please come along, have a chat and learn more about what is on offer for families in your local area.”

Attendees do not need to book the event and can simply drop in at The Autism Hub, Gordon St, South Shields.
