Metro services resume between South Shields and Pelaw after power fault

An earlier power fault on the Metro network between the two stations has now been resolved, according to a statement at 11.30am on Thursday, September 3.

A tweet from @My_Metro said: “Trains are now running between Pelaw and South Shields after the earlier service suspension.

"There are delays to service of up to 15 minutes in some areas. Metro apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

Services were first halted at around 9.40am.
