Variety show set to entertain crowds in South Tyneside to raise cash for two worthy causes
The showcase called A Celebration of Variety will bring together performers from across the region and further afield for an evening of fundraising at the Alberta Social Club on Railway Street in Jarrow.
Taking place on Thursday, October 18, at 7pm, the event has been organised by trade union, Equity North East Variety Branch, with the aim of supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and the ear, nose and throat unit (ENT) at The Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

Hide AdTaking to the stage will be singers Ana Munoz Saiz, Shirley Ann Turnbull, Paul Tucker Grant, magician Robert Reid, compere Lee Davis, as well as The Gotcha Band and the Kellermeister Oompah Band.
The night will also feature a raffle and every entry ticket will be entered into a prize draw.
Jessica Irving, assistant secretary and press officer for the branch, said: “We chose to raise funds for The Alzhimer’s Society as we think it affects a lot of people.
“One of the acts also requested that we raise funds for the ENT Unit at the Freeman. “So we will be splitting the funds raised between the two.”
