Watch as a South Shields drunk driver jumps from a moving car to escape the police
A South Shields drunk driver jumped out of a moving car to try and escape from the police.
This is the shocking moment a drink-driver jumped out of his moving car before he fell over when he tried to flee from police on foot.
Officers spotted Muhammed Choudhury driving a Toyota Avensis "erratically" on Whitburn Road in Sunderland on June 24, at around half past midnight.

Newcastle Crown Court heard he then went through a red light and travelled at around 70mph as he headed towards Pier View, while ignoring the police lights and sirens.
Prosecutor Claire Armstrong said: "He got out of the car, which then mounted a pavement and hit a wall.
"Mercifully, given the time of day, no pedestrians were present but the car was damaged.
"He attempted to run and ran around 100m before he fell over."
The court heard Choudhury was arrested and tests showed he was almost twice the drink-drive limit.
Choudhury, 32, of Salmon Street, South Shields, admitted dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol.

Recorder Tony Hawks sentenced him to 12 months, suspended for two years, with rehabilitation requirements and an 18-month driving ban.
The court heard Choudhury has two previous convictions for failing to provide a specimen.
