

Storm Arwen in South Tyneside: Pictures as treacherous weather hits the North East region

The wild weather has caused damage to Haven Point, South Tyneside Council confirmed on Saturday (November 27), while services across the entire Tyne and Wear Metro network and Shields Ferry remain suspended for the rest of today.
Met Office forecasters issued a rare Red weather warning on Friday (November 26), with a separate Yellow warning for wind remaining in place on Saturday at 6pm.
