Winter conditions continue as June begins with cold and rain - but weather map shows East-West divide
There's no end in sight to the grey, dismal conditions as June begins with dull, grey skies and drizzly outbreaks.

A damp start today with mist, drizzle and fog likely will set the tone for the week.
Meanwhile, our friends on the other side of the Pennines are enjoying much better weather - with sattelite images from yesterday showing an East-West divide.
It will stay cloudy throughout, with the murky weather persisting along the coast. However some brighter spells could gradually move into the north during the evening.
Thursday will be another cloudy start, but less murky than recently. Grey and overcast skies will persist for much of the day, although some brighter spells possible in the northwest later. Winds easing. Maximum Temperature 9°C.
