Holley and Mordue score for the Black Cats

This time, George Holley opened the scoring for Sunderland on 8 minutes before the Black Cats lead was doubled through a Jackie Mordue penalty on 40 minutes.

Mordue added a third on 75 minutes to put Sunderland through to a semi-final against Burnley. Sunderland lost the final 1-0 to Aston Villa but won the league title - to come up just short in their quest for the double.
