Hebburn Town FC will benefit from 'steep learning curve' - Moore
Hebburn Town will travel to National League North rivals AFC Telford United on Saturday.
Hebburn Town FC manager Daniel Moore has admitted his side have experienced a ‘steep learning curve’ after suffering back-to-back defeats in their last two National League North games.

Unlike in the aftermath of their previous two previous league defeats when Moore’s men bounced back with positive results, the Hornets followed up a 3-0 home loss against Oxford City with a 2-0 reverse against Scarborough Athletic last weekend.

Despite that double disappointment, Hebburn are still sitting just outside of the National League North play-off spots as they prepare to visit AFC Telford United on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking ahead of the game, Moore admitted the defeats against Oxford and Scarborough had opened his eyes to life in the second tier of the non-league game - but insisted he and his players must stay true to the style and togetherness that has brought them so much success during his reign.
He told The Gazette: “We had Oxford City at home and that’s the first time I’ve thought you could see they were full-time and they were the best team we played this season. Then they go and beat Torquay away the week after so that tells you what you need to know about just how good a side they are. It’s also the first time I’ve looked and thought there is a gap between some of the full-time teams in the division and that game showed it.
“Last weekend was probably the best we have played for weeks and I said to the players we have played worse than that this season and won games. It’s just about us keep doing what we are doing and not losing sight of what we are about as a team and as a football club. It’s been a steep learning curve and it’s showed us that if you don’t take your chances in either area, you get punished.”
Moore could hand starts to loan signings Aidan Harris and Campbell Darcy after they joined the club earlier this week - but fellow temporary addition Kian Foreman has now returned to parent club Hartlepool United after his loan spell was brought to an early end.
