Hebburn Town told to 'enjoy the pressure' as promotion race intensifies
Hebburn Town will visit Northern Premier League Premier Division rivals Workington on Saturday.
Hebburn Town manager Daniel Moore to enjoy the pressure during the final months of their push for promotion into the National League North.
The Hornets have enjoyed an outstanding season in the Northern Premier League Premier Division and are firmly in the promotion battle alongside the likes of Hednesford Town and Stockton Town with the final three months of the campaign lying in wait. It is Moore’s side that currently top the table after a Gary Martin brace and a wonder goal from on-loan Hartlepool United youngster Kian Foreman helped see off Whitby Town and take Hebburn to the summit.

A visit to bottom of the table Workington lies in wait this Saturday afternoon in what already feels like a banana skin of a fixture for Moore and his players. However, the Hornets boss is adamant his players will embrace ‘their biggest responsibility’ by preparing properly for their first game as leaders of the division.
He told The Gazette: “The first thing I said to the players after Tuesday’s win was that they have to prepare properly. That’s their biggest responsibility and it’s now our biggest game of the season. We will prepare as we always do, we will be ready to match their fight because we know they are trying to get out of the relegation zone. We have to be ready to match everything they will try and do and you never take the basics out of football.
“You hear about it all of the time, I hear the new Chelsea manager talking about doing the basics first and it’s refreshing to hear they are still drumming that into Premier League players because that’s what we will have to do between now and the end of the season. No matter what happens, because the players have give everything, and there will be ups and downs, we will finish where we deserve to finish and we will just enjoy it and see where it takes us."
Moore will assess the fitness of a number of players in his squad before finalising his plans for the trip to Borough Park.
