Jarrow manager Kennie Malia eyeing more new signings ahead of new Northern League season
Jarrow have already added to their squad ahead of the new Northern League season.
Jarrow manager Kennie Malia has described himself as ‘really happy’ with a busy start to his summer recruitment.
Park View striker Stephen Siyanbola arrives with a reputation as a proven goalscorer in the second tier of the Northern League and will hope to replace the goals scored by Jay Barber after he plundered 14 league goals last season prior to his departure to Chester-le-Street Town this summer. Morgan Dart has also arrived to boost options in attacking areas and Malia has reunited with Brad Lowes after the duo worked together at Prudhoe. Jack Honour, who provides vast Northern League experience from his time at Birtley Town, has also been snapped up as Malia continues to boost his squad in a bid to move on from a disappointing end to last season as his side fell to a penalty shoot-out defeat in their play-off final defeat at Yarm and Eaglescliffe.

The Jarrow boss is hopeful his new additions and the players he was able to retain from last season means his side can make a successful push for promotion into the Northern League’s top flight during the new campaign after suffering successive play-off final defeats over the last two years.
He told The Gazette: “I’m really happy with all new of the additions we have made this summer and I still reckon one or two may come in as well. It's got me really excited for the season. We lost two players so it was important to make sure we brought replacements in for them plus we wanted to strengthen certain areas in the team to.
“As well as Stephen Siyanbola, we have also brought in Brad Lowes, Jack Honour and Morgan Dart they add more strength and depth, as well as Northern League experience. These three will fit into the group really well. Most importantly, we have kept a large number of last year’s squad and we really think with these added additions we can really push for the promotion spot this season.”
Meanwhile, Jarrow and neighbours Boldon CA will discover their opening day opponents when the Northern League release their fixtures for the new season this Saturday.
