2025/26 Premier League xG table - where Newcastle finished vs rivals
Newcastle United struggled in front of goal during the 2025/26 Premier League season - but how did their xG compare to their league rivals?
Newcastle United endured a disappointing 2025/26 Premier League campaign, and a look at last season's xG makes the club's lack of success even more underwhelming.
The Magpies came into the season on the back of qualifying for the Champions League and winning the League Cup in the previous campaign. But it was fairly obvious by the middle part of the season that Newcastle were destined to underperform as they continued to drop points both at home and away from St James' Park.

In the end, it was a frustrating 12th-place finish for Newcastle, who missed out on the European places by five points as rivals Sunderland ended the campaign in seventh. While Sunderland overperformed their xG by some considerable margin, finishing seventh vs the 18th expected by their xG, Newcastle underperformed vs their xG.
Newcastle were expected to amass another seven points and finish in tenth. With all of this in mind, let's see the aforementioned xG table courtesy of Bet442 in full below.
