The Frenchman has returned to the United starting XI in recent weeks after a lengthy spell away from Tyneside, and has reminded fans just how much they missed him whilst he was away.

As well as his excellent performances on the pitch, Saint-Maximin provides a very entertaining social media account.

On Saturday evening, the 23-year-old mocked Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson for pronouncing his name as ‘Sam Maximus’ following the 3-2 win over Southampton via a tweet and changing his Twitter name.

His latest victim? United’s bitter rivals Sunderland after he responded to a tweet regarding the postponed under-23s derby on Morning morning.

In amusing fashion, Saint-Maxmin replied: “The Premier League calendar looking for Sunderland season after season”, accompanied by a GIF of Canadian singer The Weeknd.

As you can imagine, Newcastle fans were left well impressed.
