Steve Bruce talks up deals for loan trio - could NUFC make the moves?

We'll have the conversations after the season finishes. The three of them have certainly helped us. We haven't had a left back so we brought Danny in. Bentaleb has come back very well. Lazaro hasn't had the game time but I've been quietly pleased with him.

Pre-season break discussed - and, as expected, it’s a short one!

Chance for Kelland Watts this weekend?

Emil Krafth's got an awful ankle at the moment - we'll see how he is, he's going to be touch and go. Fabian Schär is having an operation on his shoulder this morning. The rest is petty much the same.

Steve Bruce: Some light at the end of the tunnel on the injury front?

We might have Isaac (Hayden) and Sean (Longstaff). We’ve got a problem with Emil (Krafth). He took a nasty whack to his ankle.

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Bournemouth and England frontman Callum Wilson – subject to the Cherries failing to beat the drop this Sunday.

Eddie Howe’s men are three points adrift of Aston Villa and safety heading into the final day of the Premier League season – and must win to avoid dropping out of the top flight.

Nathan Ake is already set to depart the Vitality Stadium this summer, with Manchester City likely to seal a £40 million deal for the former Chelsea central defender.

And Howe & Co could well entertain offers for a number of there other highly-rated forward line, with Joshua King and Wilson likely to attract interest.

The Express report Steve Bruce is keen to sign Wilson to lead his United line, as his four forwards have scored just five Premier League goals between them.

Wilson, 28, is reportedly rated at £20 million.

Nile Ranger has pleaded for a “last chance” in football.

The striker has been without a club since January 2018, when his contract at Southend United was terminated due to “recurring disciplinary issues”.

“The game has pretty much washed its hands of me – I’m treated as the Osama bin Laden of football,” said Ranger, who left Newcastle United in 2013 after making 51 league appearances, and scoring two goals, for the club.

Ranger – who was jailed for eight months in 2017 for his part in an online banking scam – says has turned down contracts with Rochdale and Oxford United since leaving Southend.

“In hindsight, they were both really stupid decisions,” the 29-year-old told the Daily Star. “I can’t blame anyone else – it’s all been self-inflicted. I hope and pray I’ll get one last chance. If I do, I’m ready to grab it with both hands.’’
