Newcastle’s flagship store at St James’ Park has been undergoing significant refurbishment since May as a result of the £30million a season partnership with Adidas. A temporary shop made from shipping containers was set up on Strawberry Place opposite the stadium.
Planning permission for the temporary store ends on November 18 and requires the site to be restored to its previous car park state by that date.

An official club statement released last week confirmed that a new club shop would be opening at Metrocentre in Gateshead next month. The same statement revealed that the St James’ Park club store would open its doors in October.
But fresh images shared by Newcastle supporter Peter Clennell on X show there is still some internal work to be done before the grand re-opening.
Unopened boxes, mannequins and construction workers can be seen inside the store with no Newcastle shirts or memorabilia currently on display. Fortunately, the club expects progress to be swift and the store to open within the next week though no set date has been given after the club confirmed that the shop would not be opening on the previously reported date of Friday, October 25

“Opening a new Metrocentre store is the next step in that journey. It re-introduces the club to an iconic and much-loved shopping destination, and positions our retail offering alongside other leading international brands.
“We have a very exciting period ahead, including the launch of our new flagship store at St. James’ Park, followed quickly by our new store opening in a prime location at Metrocentre.
“We look forward to uniting even more supporters with the Newcastle United products both in the build-up to the Christmas period and into the future.”
