Manchester United are reportedly set to agree a new deal with manager Erik Ten Hag that would see the former Ajax head coach remain in charge until the summer of 2027.
The Dutch boss has endured a challenging period after speculation over his future dominated the headlines during the second half of the season. Despite claiming a second major trophy in as many seasons with an FA Cup Final win against local rivals Manchester City, there were reports suggesting the Old Trafford hierarchy were contemplating parting company with Ten Hag. There was speculation suggesting the likes of Roberto De Zerbi, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel were all linked with the 13-time Premier League champions - and Ten Hag revealed the club had spoken to the latter of that trio in a recent interview.

Manchester United have told me that they spoke with Tuchel, but they eventually came to the conclusion that they already have the best manager. Ineos took their time. They are new in football, it's normal to reflect on the season. It's no secret that they talked with multiple candidates. Manchester United and I still have to find an agreement for the new contract. This isn't easily done - we are still going to have to talk about this."
Progress has been made over that deal and Fabrizio Romano has now claimed Ten Hag is close to an agreement that would keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2027 and see the former Ajax manager earn around £27m. Ten Hag is also set to be handed an opportunity to refresh his backroom staff and there are reports former Red Devils striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy could return to the club after reportedly rejecting an opportunity to join Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany’s coaching team at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
The journalist posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Erik ten Hag, set to sign new contract at Manchester United as deal is now almost agreed. Contacts advancing to final stages this week with his agents to finalize terms. There will be changes in the staff with Ruud van Nistelrooy as strong candidate, as revealed.”

Their preparations for Postecoglou’s second season in charge are already well underway and there have been reports suggesting the North London club are aiming to add a defensive midfielder and a versatile forward to their ranks.
However, the latest report from TBR has suggested Spurs are ‘advancing’ with a move for Crystal Palace and England winger Eberechi Eze. The Eagles are already set to lose one of their main attacking threats as Michael Olise closes in on a move to Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and there is said to be significant interest in Eze. The report suggests Eze has ‘emerged as an option’ for Spurs and reveals an enquiry has been lodged for a player that made a fleeting appearance in England’s Euro 2024 group stage draw with Denmark.
