Manchester United, meanwhile, will be hoping an injury picked up by key man Marcus Rashford, one that saw him substituted against Barcelona with, will not be enough to impact his performance at the weekend.
Here, we take a look at all the selection headaches both camps will have to contend with ahead of Sunday’s game and the latest from Howe and ten Hag:

5. Anthony Martial
Martial briefly returned to action at the beginning of the month, but managed just a brief return before being injured again. The repetitive nature of his injuries this season suggest Martial won’t be rushed back into the first-team picture. Ten Hag said: “Anthony Martial is not available. He is back on the pitch, we wait for team training.” Photo: Michael Regan

6. Emil Krafth
Krafth sustained an ACL injury during their Carabao Cup game with Tranmere Rovers back in August and is expected to be out of action for the majority of the season. Photo: PAUL ELLIS

7. Christian Eriksen
Eriksen was injured during Manchester United’s FA Cup game with Reading and is not expected to make his return to action until late-April. In January, ten Hag said: “Of course, he is disappointed about it, we are disappointed about it,” he said. “It happens in top football, you have to deal with it.” Photo: Naomi Baker

8. Matt Targett
Targett has been sidelined since December with a heel injury but is back and available for selection. Howe said: “Certainly, Matt Targett’s improved a lot. He had a game at the weekend. We thought it was wise to leave him out of the game, and really pleased with his fitness. I was really pleased with what he did, so I’d say yeah, he’ll be available for selection.” Photo: Jan Kruger
