Newcastle United have already agreed two deadline day transfer deals - plus two still up in the air
Newcastle United transfers: It’s shaping up to be a busy day for the Magpies on deadline day.
Newcastle United are set to complete their eighth senior summer signing on deadline day - but will there be more to come?
Matias Fernandez-Pardo is on Tyneside to finalise his £51million move from Ligue 1 side Lille today. The Belgian international flew to Newcastle on Monday to complete his medical and put pen to paper on a five-year deal at St James’ Park.
The move will see Nick Woltemade leave Newcastle to join Juventus on loan for the 2026/27 season. It comes just over a year after the German’s £65million club record move from VfB Stuttgart.

Woltemade is flying over to Italy today to complete his temporary switch to the Serie A club.

More outgoings at NUFC
There is expected to be more movement at Newcastle, particularly in terms of outgoings. Sean Neave is available to leave the club on loan amid League One and Scottish Premiership interest.
The 19-year-old has had limited first-team opportunities so far under Matthias Jaissle and will be given the opportunity to secure regular senior football for the first time having made his Premier League and Champions League debuts last season.
Other Under-21s players will typically be allowed to leave in the latter hours of the window, subject to interest.
At first-team level, Nick Pope has been available to leave Newcastle all summer, but the club are yet to find a suitable club to sign him. Celtic and Hull City have been linked with the 34-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
The goalkeeper has not featured in any of Newcastle’s matchday squads since Jaissle was appointed as head coach.
Joe Willock’s positive start to life under Jaissle may just have ended talk of the midfielder heading to Besiktas. Willock is into the final year of his contract at Newcastle and was set to be available to leave the club should a suitable offer come in.
While Besiktas are interested and Willock was thought to be open to joining the club, the 26-year-old has been given a new lease of life under Jaissle. It’s now at the stage where a new contract is more likely for Willock than a deadline day transfer exit.
Jacob Murphy is another player who is into the final year of his contract and would be allowed to leave should a suitable replacement come in. Nottingham Forest are interested along with Everton, with the former having a £10million bid rejected over the bank holiday weekend.
Unless an improved bid is made and Newcastle are able to strike a deal to bring in another versatile winger like Murphy, the 31-year-old will be staying put at St James’ Park.
Any incomings?
The arrival of Fernandez-Pardo could spell the end of Newcastle’s summer transfer business; that is certainly the noise surrounding the club on deadline day.
But with plenty of space available in the squad and money to spend, it’s still too early to write anything off just yet. Should an opportunity present itself, Newcastle are well positioned to be ready to strike.
