According to a report on Football Insider, United could attempt to sign the Scotland under-19 international, with his contractual situation at Carrow Road unclear.

McCracken was signed in 2016 from Hamilton by then boss Alex Neil.

Since then he has become a regular with the Canaries' under-23 side, as well as training with the first-team squad, who were promoted to the Premier League last season, alongside former Magpies keeper Tim Krul.

United are well-stocked in the goalkeeper department this summer with an overhaul on the cards.

Should Rafa Benitez remain beyond June 30 he is keen to let experienced Rob Elliot depart, while the club are keen to tie England under-21 keeper Freddie Woodman down to a new deal. Benitez would not stand in Karl Darlow's way, should he secure a permanent move.

At reserve level, where McCracken would likely slot in, United released Otto Huuhtanen with Nathan Harker retained.
