Newcastle United games 'could be shown on free-to-air TV'

Top-flight football could make a return to free-to-air TV when the Premier League returns, according to a report.

The league, suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, could complete its fixtures in June and July.

Those games, which could be played behind closed doors, could all be screened live.

The Mirror claim that there is a “chance” that some fixtures could be shown on terrestrial channels.

Sky Sports and BT Sport share the broadcast rights to the games. Newcastle United have nine games left.
