Steve Bruce's side were due to host the current Premier League champions in March, however the tie was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Now, following the announcement that the Premier League season will resume on June 17, fresh dates have been released regarding the FA Cup.

United’s last eight clash is pencilled in for the weekend of June 27-28 with further confirmation to follow on whether it will be played at St James’s Park or a neutral venue.

Should the Magpies progress into the semi-finals, that is due to take place on 18-19 July with the final scheduled for August 1.

"The competition has been an integral part of the English football calendar for nearly 150 years, and we’d like to thank the Premier League executive and clubs for their support in scheduling the remaining matches during this unprecedented time,” said chief executive officer, Mark Bullingham.

"This has been a difficult period for many people and, while this is a positive step, the restart date is dependent on all safety measures being met. The health and wellbeing of players, staff and supporters remains our priority.”

Newcastle still have Man City to play away from home in the league, and reports claim it is one of SIX league fixtures the police have identified as requiring a neutral venue. If correct, the Magpies’ home encounter with Liverpool would also be switched to a neutral venue.
