Newcastle United lifted by returning player for Arsenal FA Cup tie
The defender has been unavailable since being forced off against Chelsea in November with knee and thigh injuries. Lascelles went on to test positive for Covid-19 during a coronavirus outbreak at the club.
The 27-year-old had been doing light training away from the main group after being given the all-clear by the club’s medical team. However, Lascelles joined in the full session today ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Arsenal.

Hide AdIn his programme column late last month, Lascelles said: “I have been doing a bit outside or a bit of ball work with one of the physios, but once I have the green light from the doc I can be introduced back to the team.”


Meanwhile, winger Allan Saint-Maximin – who also tested positive for Covid-19 – is not yet back in training.
