The ex-Sunderland, Swansea City and FC Seoul man is reportedly wanted by Scottish giants Celtic, who he played for between 2009 and 2012.

Ki has been a peripheral figure for the Magpies this season with manager Steve Bruce turning to youngster Matty Longstaff ahead of the former South Korea international.

Signed by Rafa Benitez on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 as a replacement for outgoing Mikel Merino, Ki has made just 22 appearances in the last two season for United. Only three of those have come this campaign, the last of which was the humiliating 5-0 loss at Leicester City on September 29.

And according to Football Insider, Celtic boss Neil Lennon has eyes on taking Ki back north of the border, with the player out of contract in the summer.
