More heartbreak for Newcastle United star after bombshell announcement
Lewis Hall is a surprise omission after Thomas Tuchel named his 26-man England squad for the World Cup.
Lewis Hall has astonishingly been left out of England’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
Fans across the country are in meltdown after Thomas Tuchel’s squad leaked last night. High-profile names like Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Morgan Gibbs-White have been left out.
Harry Maguire posted his disappointment on social media after discovering his fate on Thursday. Surprise inclusions like Ivan Toney, Djed Spence, Jordan Henderson, Noni Madueke and Jarell Quansah also have the country talking.

Newcastle United trio… but no Lewis Hall
On the Newcastle United front, Dan Burn, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon have all made the cut. However, there is no place in the squad for Hall, who has arguably been Newcastle’s best player this season.
The 22-year-old has developed into one of England’s best young left-backs at St James’ Park. Most pundits and supporters felt as though it would be a shoot-out between Hall and Nico O’Reilly to feature in England’s starting line-up.
But Tuchel has opted to name just one natural left-back - O’Reilly - in his 26-man squad. The German also picked Tottenham Hotspur full-back Djed Spence, who can cover both sides, with Livramento another versatile option.
Lewis Hall on England hopes
The news will deal a bitter blow to Hall following an impressive campaign. He would have been hopeful of representing England at his first major tournament.
In March, Hall discussed having one final chance to show Tuchel what he can do. He told reporters: “There are two ways you can look at it, it can be quite nerve-racking knowing that this is the last opportunity to maybe impress. But at the same time, I think you play so many games in the season, I think they all know the way that you like to play.
“And I think this is just another chance for you to show not only what you can do on the pitch, but what you’re like off the pitch. So I’m just looking to be as happy as possible and enjoy my football here. Hopefully it will put me in a good position.”
