Where Newcastle United sit in Premier League shot conversion table

Newcastle United have struggled in front of goal this season - but how does their shot conversion compare to their Premier League rivals?

Newcastle United have endured a rough start to the 2026/27 season, and this latest table highlights one of the club's key problems.

The Magpies sit 11th in the Premier League after picking up just eight points from their opening seven matches in the top tier. After an extended international break, Newcastle hoped to secure an important home win over Aston Villa at the weekend, but instead fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat. It leaves United heading into next Sunday's clash at Crystal Palace in desperate need of three points, and the table below highlights one of the club's issues.

Matthias Jaissle's men are seventh in shot conversion rate this season, meaning they are above average at turning shots into goals. However, they are below average in shots attempted. Newcastle are eleventh in shots attempted so far during the 2026/27 campaign. But shots attempted are not everything, with reigning champions Arsenal having attempted two fewer than Newcastle.

The Magpies' biggest issue is goals conceded, with only two sides having shipped more so far. With that in mind, here's the Premier League shot conversion table below, brought to you by Boyles Sports, home of sports betting.
