Official transfer announcement after £21.5m Newcastle United deal agreed claim
Newcastle United held talks over a potential transfer but Brighton & Hove Albion have won the race.
Newcastle United have missed out on the signing of Zadok Yohanna to Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.
Newcastle did not submit a formal bid for the 18-year-old winger, despite suggestions that both they and Chelsea had a £21.5million offer accepted.
The Magpies did indeed hold talks with AIK Stockholm - the club where Alexander Isak started his career - but the Nigerian has joined Brighton, who were at the table before any other team.

Newcastle United miss out on Zadok Yohanna
Yohanna has arrived for an undisclosed fee and penned a five-year contract at the Amex.
"I watch Premier League games a lot, so I know the teams that use young players, and Brighton is one of them," Yohanna said. "They are really good at developing young talents, and I think their style of play will fit me a lot."
Meanwhile, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said: “I’m looking forward to working with Zadok. Having seen his games and his attributes, he is a player that can impact games in the final third.
“He’s still young, and will need time to adapt to the club and Premier League, but he’s an exciting player to watch and he brings the kind of creativity we know our fans will enjoy.
“He’s dynamic, has pace and likes to take players on. His attributes and ability will be a real addition to our attacking options.”
Newcastle are understood to hold a strong interest in Osasuna winger Victor Munoz but could face stiff competition due to his reported £34.5m release clause.
