Northern League: Boldon CA 'full of confidence' as stunning form continues
It was a busy weekend across both divisions of the Ebac Northern League.
Boldon CA joint-manager Chris Spence admitted his squad are ‘full of confidence’ after they extended their unbeaten run to 12 games in all competitions with a 4-0 win against Seaham Red Star.
The Villa outfit have been amongst the goals in recent games as they plundered their way to 16 goals in their last five games - and their ability to find the net with regularity continued with an impressive home win against Mark Collingwood’s side.

Much of the hard work was done inside the opening quarter of an hour as summer signings Callum Larmouth and Liam Thear found the net to put their side in control. Larmouth continued his stunning recent form by doubling his tally on the half-hour with his ninth goal of the season before Harry Knowles added a fourth goal just before the break.
The only slight negative from the day for Boldon was a red card shown to substitute Jordan Laidler in the closing stages - but even that could not take much away from yet another positive day. The result leaves Boldon just one point behind Division Two leaders Billingham Town - and Spence believes there is more to come from their new-look side as they continue to gel following their summer overhaul.
He told The Gazette: “We are full of confidence at the moment and we have been playing some great football. We haven’t looked any further ahead than our next game and it’s served us well up to now so that’s what we will continue to do. We know the quality we have in the team and the more games we are playing together, the more we can see the levels increasing with each match. It’s important that all the lads pitch in and we’re not relying on one or two to score so it’s great for us as a management team to see goals coming from all around the pitch.”
Boldon now have a rare free midweek to prepare for next Saturday’s FA Vase second qualifying round tie at Campion before they return to league action with a visit to Darlington Town seven days later.
