Northern League: Jarrow challenged to extend unbeaten run in FC Hartlepool test
Jarrow are hoping to continue their push for promotion into the Northern League’s top tier this weekend.
Kennie Malia has called on the local community to get behind Jarrow as they look to extend their astonishing unbeaten league run and boost their hopes of securing a historic promotion.
The Perth Green outfit are now 18 games unbeaten since the start of the Northern League Division Two season following last weekend’s draw at Grangetown Boys Club - and they head into Saturday’s home game with FC Hartlepool just five points behind league leaders Billingham Town.
After a run of five consecutive away games in all competitions, Malia and his players will enjoy the benefit of home comforts for the first time in over a month when they walk out at Perth Green on Saturday and they have long unbeaten run on their home patch to protect.
Yarm and Eaglescliffe were the last visiting side to claim a win against Jarrow after they claimed all three points with a 2-1 win on the first weekend of August 2025 - and Malia is adamant that run can continue this weekend with the help of the local community.
He told The Gazette: “We have a tough task ahead of us and we know we do but we have a strong squad available for the game so we will attack it as we always do. We would love to continue the unbeaten run in the league because if we do it would mean we would be 18 league games unbeaten. We would also love to pack Perth Green and get the fans right behind us because the support means so much.”
