Hide AdNo deal has been secured yet, but there has been interest from clubs outside of the UK.
McGeady was linked with a switch to the MLS in the summer before committing his future to Sunderland by signing a year-long extension to his current deal.
That means his contract still has 18 months to run.
“There’s one or two clubs from abroad have contacted the hierarchy at the club,” Parkinson said.
“There’s nothing absolutely concrete but I’m sure that in a situation like this, quite often the player’s agent will be working on several situations.
“That’s why it was important to give Aiden enough time to try and sort that out.”
