Wednesday, 4th March 2020, 5:36 pm

The fly-on-the-wall documentary will follow the Black Cats’ first season back in League One, and their ultimately unsuccessful attempt to return to the Championship during the 2018/19 season.

There will be six episodes of the show in season two, with one focusing purely on Sunderland’s run to Wembley in the Checkatrade Trophy Final.

And while fans have been forced to wait for several months for the release of the series, they only have a matter of weeks until ‘Sunderland ‘Til I Die’ will return to the streaming service.

For an advert has now appeared on the Netflix mobile app promising that the second series of the documentary will premiere on April 1.

Netflix subsequently confirmed the release date with a cheeky tweet – referencing the fact the series will be released on April’s Fools Day.
