Chris stepped out of his comfort zone this week with his dance partner Karen Hauer dancing the tango to Destiny’s Child’s track Survivor in the hope of impressing the judges and the public on Saturday, November 9.

The couple’s performance received mixed reviews from the judges and after scoring 34 with his much-loved Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble routine, he managed to grab himself 26 points this week.

On Sunday, October 10, Remembrance Sunday, it was revealed that the Strictly couple had done enough to make it through to next week where they will be dancing in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Following an emotional Remembrance Day group performance from the professional dancers, it was once again revealed that Chris and Karen were second from the bottom of the leader board.

Chris was pulling his iconic comedic faces during the name call of successful dancing couples and found himself waiting for the second name call to hear his fate.

As described by Craig Revel Horwood, it was a “complete shock” when Michelle Visage and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice were the first to be facing the dance-off.

In the second name call, Chris and Karen were once again left hanging on to almost the last moment to find out their fate as they and Mike Bushell and Katya Jones became the last two pairs to find out who would be dancing to remain in the contest.

After they were revealed to be safe, Chris blew a huge sigh of relief before giving a thumbs up and saying thank you.

Chris admitted that he had gigged in Blackpool earlier in his career with a poor turnout so he is “hoping for a full house” next week.

On reaction to making it through to another week Chris said: “I can’t believe it. I’m so happy. It’s great.”

Mike and Katya were revealed to be the ones sadly heading home and their final dance ended in a conga featuring all of the remaining dancers.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday, November 16.
