Primary school sends full year group home after teacher tests positive for Covid-19

Simonside Primary School has sent home its Year 2 class after a teacher tested positive for coronavirus.

The school, on Glasgow Road in Jarrow, sent the year group home on Monday, September 14.

Headteacher Julie Parnaby confirmed that the year group was sent home on Monday, but was unable to offer any further comment.

It is not known whether some of the year group have since returned to school or if they remain at home self-isolating.

South Tyneside Council has also been contacted for comment.
