Northumbria Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify as part of an attempted robbery investigation.

Officers were called to the Lifestyle Express store in Bede Burn Road, Jarrow, after a report a man, who is described as white and wearing a mask, had entered the store in possession of a knife and had threatened an employee before demanding money from the till.

Police said no one was harmed in the incident, which was reported shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday, March 28, but the employee was left shaken after the offender fled from the shop empty-handed.

The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of their website or by calling 101 quoting log 1033 280321.
