5. Kiera (Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois) cross, five months)
Kiera loves being around her family and you'll find her wanting to curl up beside you on the sofa. She would need her new owners to have someone that will be home for most of the day to help her settle in. Kiera is a very smart girl and is already gaining progress with her housetraining and is well settled at bedtime. She is always aiming to please and she is a total foodie so this will aid in continuing her training! Kiera is in foster with another dog and she would benefit from living with another friendly dog who can match her energy. She is going to be an active dog when she is older and is looking for a family who enjoys going on different interesting walks and would be keen to put her mind to use by attending training classes. Kiera has attended classes at our Dog School with her foster carers and she has graduated with a paw-fect grade. She has been a star student and can't wait to do more training with her new family. Kiera is a very loving and affectionate girl who will make a very loyal companion for someone. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Edinburgh
Pixie is a lovely, affectionate and intelligent girl. She’s a working breed and very high drive so needs a family willing to give her plenty of exercise, both physical and mental. She loves being out and about! She can be worried by strangers but once you’re in Pixie’s crew, you’re there for life and she will shower you with affection whether you want it or not! She loves training and her new family need to be willing to continue her positive-reinforcement-based training in the home she is a huge fan of toys and treats and loves to learn. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Darlington
Rosie missed out on a lot of socialisation when she was a young puppy and because of this she is very mistrustful around people. She is worried by fast hand movements and of being held by her collar. She does not like being groomed or seeing the vet, and must wear a muzzle. Rosie has a fun and loving personality with those she trusts and likes, however, she easily becomes overwhelmed and defensive in situations that involve showing her affection. She takes a long time to build relationships and will need people who can respect her feelings and accept her for who she is. Rosie will need an experienced owner who can understand her needs, someone who has owned behaviourally challenging dogs before and can keep to a strict routine to help Rosie feel safe and know what to expect in her day-to-day life. Rosie is house-trained, comfortable being left alone for a few hours and loves to travel in the car. Rosie will need to meet her new owners several times at the centre to build a trusting friendship before being able to go to her new home. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Edinburgh
Ronnie would enjoy a home where he can get out for an active walk and then come home to get cosy on the sofa. He loves Beach walks, woodland walks and being out for a long time! He would like a secure garden to zoomie, relax and toileting. He loves toys, squeaky ones, balls and soft toys too. He is used to being fussed, petted, stoked and having his belly rubbed. He would like a home free of cats and small animals. | DT Photo: Dogs Trust Cumbria
