DST, a print, fulfilment and resource handling company based in the town, hosted a donation drive and cake sale event in honour of St Clare’s Hospice.

The event raised more than £300 as well as a substantial collection of books, crafts and games which have been donated to the patients in the hospice’s day care unit, retail outlets and fundraising department.

DST, which has more than 100 employees, has been supporting St Clare’s throughout the year by hosting a variety of fundraising events.

Sharon Jemma, response handling team leader at DST, said: “We enjoy doing the fundraising activities for St Clare’s and plan to continue to fundraise for the charity in the future with a savoury bake sale planned for November as well as providing a number of our employees with the opportunity to volunteer at the hospice.”

St Clare’s fundraising officer Caroline Breheny said: “We are delighted with the donations that we have received from DST, and overwhelmed by the kindness of the organisations employees.”

St Clare’s Hospice has to secure £1.4million from donations and fundraising each year and aims to work with businesses in the local area in flexible ways which suit their needs.
