To celebrate, South Tyneside attraction Jarrow Hall is hosting a midsummer weekend featuring family activities.

Free with an annual pass to the site, the weekend will see farm school sessions take place as well as craft and activity offerings.

Families can also learn about the history of midsummer and the ancient traditions which are associated with the day while watching - and maybe taking part in - maypole dancing showcases.

The weekend of activities will run throughout the weekend, while the farm school will be available between 10am and 12 noon across the two days.
