Newcastle 'in talks' with West Brom over Salomon Rondon deal

Newcastle United are "in talks" with West Bromwich Albion over a move for Salomon Rondon, according to a report.

The club yesterday agreed to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham for Â£20million.

Mitrovic, 23, is expected to complete his move to Fulham in the next 24 hours.

And Sky Sports News claim today that Newcastle are in discussions with relegated West Brom over a move for Rondon, who has a Â£16.5million release clause in his contract at The Hawthorns.

A loan swap deal for 28-year-old Rondon involving United striker Dwight Gayle has been mooted.

United manager Rafa Benitez was coy when asked by the Gazette about Gayle's future at the club after last night's 0-0 draw against Porto at the Estadio do Dragao.
